Welcome to Sunnyside - home of Newhall Infant and Nursery School. Our school is a large infant and nursery school in South Derbyshire - an area with a rich history much of it based around the industries of coal mining and pottery.
There has been a school on the Sunnyside site since 1895 - when the former Newhall Council School was built. We moved into our present building in September 2001 (official ceremony November 2001) after a long campaign to replace the old school, now the Performing Arts Centre for the William Allitt School.
We are very proud of our school and hope this website gives you a flavour of all the exciting and vibrant things that happen here. The progress and achievement of every child is important to us and we want all learners to achieve their full potential. We provide a supportive and caring environment where every child is given an opportunity to succeed and develop.
